General Studio Policies

  • Parents are kindly asked to notify the studio or inform the teacher when their child will be absent from class.
  • Cell phone usuage is strictly prohibited during class time.
  • Our instructors reserve the right to have students who come more than 15 minutes late, sit and observe the class. as proper warm up is essential to preventing injury.
  • Children who are not dancing may not be left unsupervised at the studio.
  • Parents and friends are kindly asked to view the class through the observation windows- dancers only in the studio areas.
  • The use of video recording equipment during class time is by permission only. This will be strictly enforced.
  • Please be considerate of our facilities and students, we kindly ask that you remove all boots and shoes in the porch. Please refrain from walking on dressing rooms and studio floors with outdoor shoes.

 

Cancelled Class Policy

  • If classes are cancelled due to teacher illness or performance obligations the classes missed will be rescheduled at a suitable time.
  • If classes are cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control (ie:  inclement weather, power outages, etc) the classes will  not be rescheduled. Students may request a make-up class if an appropriate level is available.
  • A general rule of thumb for us will be if the school are closed, we will be closed. A notice will be posted on both our answering machine and website.

 

Payment Structure

  • Fees are based on a nine month dance year consisting of 36 classes (Four per month) from September to June. Please see the studio calendar for more information.

        The dance year consists of three terms:

               Term One: September- November

               Term Two: December- February

               Term Three: March- May

  • Invoices will not be issued to those paying monthly. It is the responsibility of the parent/ student to pay their fees at the beginning of each four week period- a notice will be posted on our website as a reminder.
  • Payment must be received at the beginning of each term or four week period in order to avoid a late payment charge.
  • There are NO REFUNDS. Your payment and registration are an agreement between yourself and The Dance Academy for a stated period of time.
  • You are advised that you are responsible for the full payment of the term or month for which you are registered.  Invoicing will continue until the studio is notified in writing, that the student will not be returning.
  • The Dance Academy accepts cash, cheque, debit, Visa and Mastercard.

 

Dress Code for Dance Classes

  • Proper dance attire must be worn for all classes- absolutely no jeans, pajama pants or gumchewing.
  • For all classes hair is to be worn neatly back and no jewelry.
  • All students are asked to please follow the dress code- no exceptions!  
  • Dance shoes should not be worn outside.
  • Valuables should not be brought to the studio, as we are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
